Are you an experienced Estimator from an automotive manufacturing background looking to join a growing business based in County Durham? This role involves acting as the focal point between Commercial, Engineering and Plant functions to ensure all technical and commercial inputs are fully captured, validated and represented within the cost. You will have a strong technical understanding with a high level of numeracy and analytical capability. This role offers a salary of £45-50K+ dependant on the experience of the Estimator. This role could be hybrid for the right candidate after successful training period.
The Role:
- Working from an RFQ
- The Estimator will interpret CAD data and technical specifications
- Engage with relevant experts within departments including Tooling, NPI, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing etc and translate those inputs into a clear cost model
- Take ownership of RFQ costing activity
- Review and interpret customer CAD drawings and specifications
- Work with Engineering and NPI to confirm manufacturing routes, tooling concepts and cycle times
- Partner with purchasing to source and validate external quotations
- Support Sales in developing competitive quotations
Suitable Candidate:
- Proven experience in estimating or cost engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Experience within Automotive is advantageous with awareness of automotive processes
