Auxo Engineering are currently looking for a QHSE Assistant on a full time, permanent basis. The ideal candidate will support the Quality & Compliance Manager in driving a proactive safety and continuous improvement culture across the business. This role assists in maintaining compliance with BRC and FSC standards, conducting safety audits, investigating incidents, supporting training and managing departmental administration.

Hours: Monday-Thursday - 8.30am - 5.30pm & Friday - 8.30am-3.00pm. Can be flexible with start and finish times.

Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on experience.

Principal accountabilities:

  • Health & Safety
    • Inductions & Training: Deliver inductions for new employees, contractors, and visitors, and maintain accurate training records.
    • Risk Assessments: Assist in carrying out and reviewing risk assessments (e.g., COSHH, Manual Handling, DSE).
    • Incident Management: Support incident and accident investigations, identifying root causes and documenting corrective actions.
    • Site Inspections: Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and manage hazard reporting.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Audit Readiness: Help prepare for and participate in internal and external audits.
    • Non-Conformance: Log quality issues, track customer complaints, and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Environment & Administration
    • Compliance Data: Produce accurate QHSE reports, analyse safety performance data, and manage departmental documentation.
    • Environmental Controls: Help monitor environmental compliance.
    • Communication: Act as the first point of contact for employee safety queries.

Key Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience in a Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment role or similar compliance function.
  • Qualifications: Relevant H&S certification such as NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH qualification.
  • Standards: Preferably knowledge of BRC.
  • Computer Literacy: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to influence staff at all levels.
