Hours: Monday-Thursday - 8.30am - 5.30pm & Friday - 8.30am-3.00pm. Can be flexible with start and finish times.

Salary: £32,000 P/A with regular pay reviews. Full Time Permanent.

Overall Purpose: Auxo Engineering are currently recruiting an Estimator and Customer Service Support Advisor to be the primary point of contact for our clients' enquiries, managing the communication flow from the initial Request for Quotation (RFQ) through to order confirmation. You will also evaluate technical specifications, calculate labour and material costs, and generate accurate pricing proposals. The ideal candidate balances strong data-analysis skills with exceptional communication to maintain thriving client relationships.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Estimating & Commercial Pricing:
    • Evaluate incoming RFQs, artwork, materials, and customer specifications.
    • Calculate total manufacturing costs, including raw materials, production labour, tooling, and other related costs using our MRP system and estimating tools.
    • Maintain profit margin targets set by the Commercial Manager by monitoring material increases and production capabilities.
    • Update pricing databases regularly to ensure all internal systems reflect current supply-chain costs.
  • Customer Service & Account Support:
    • Serve as the first line of contact for business-to-business (B2B) client accounts via phone, email, and client portals.
    • Address technical and pricing queries, clarifying client design expectations to guarantee accurate cost-modelling.
    • Conduct proactive follow-up calls on outstanding quotations to track success rates and collect market feedback.
    • Process incoming purchase orders, cross-checking that final client contracts align perfectly with the original issued estimate.
  • Internal Collaboration:
    • Liaise with procurement teams to acquire up-to-date supplier pricing for custom raw materials.

Experience required:

  • Data analysis: High proficiency in reading specifications, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills: Competency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) formulas.
  • Excellent communication: Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Mathematical accuracy: Exceptional numerical skill with strict attention to detail.
  • Software experience: Prior experience using (ERP) or MRP systems.
  • Relevant qualifications: An educational background or technical apprenticeship in business, maths or accounting.
