POSITION SUMMARY Assembly and prototyping of electronic components, sub-assemblies and unit builds of high voltage power supplies. Developing the product to meet project schedules and performance standards for NPI, from design concept to complete manufacturing readiness. Works in collaboration with design and CAD engineering receiving direction and guidance daily as duties may vary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build of units to basic drawings/instructions, including soldering skills, wiring loom creation, PCB assembly, sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
- Modification/rework of build and PCBA’s from marked up schematic diagrams and drawings.
- Documents development notes, corrections actions, BOM changes and drawing amendments accurately.
- Communicates openly and effectively in a professional manner.
- Maintains flexibility and adapts within a team environment.
- Ensures all safety and quality processes and procedures are strictly followed.
- Utilization of SAP MRP system and applying standard manufacturing processes.
- Documentation using basic PC programs. (i.e., Excel, Word, etc.).
- Maintains ESD best practices and 5S standards.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Works under minimum supervision and communicates and collaborates directly with all other AE functions.
- In-depth understanding of AE systems and tools as well as Microsoft applications.
- Activity initiates training other AE employees and functions as a technical interface as required.
- Completes modification assignments from limited marked up schematic diagrams or technical drawings that could be complex in nature and inclusive of SMT PCBA rework.
- Uses initiative and judgment to overcome issues and resolve problems.
- Initiates and contributes to improving processes, lead times, through-put and efficiency.
- A working knowledge of mechanical practices such as drilling, tapping and repairing threads using thread inserts.
- Ideally hold certificates in (or have a working understanding of) IPC-610, IPC-620, IPC-7711 and IPC-7721.
- Minimum of two years electro-mechanical assembly within NPI function.
