Advanced Clinical is supporting a global biotech organisation in the search for a Senior Manager, R&D Outsourcing to join their global Procurement and Business Operations function. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced outsourcing and contracting professional with strong expertise in CRO/vendor management, clinical outsourcing, and R&D contract negotiations in biotech, pharma, or CRO environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full contracting lifecycle for outsourced R&D services and strategic projects
- Lead vendor identification, RFI/RFP processes, proposal evaluations, and contract negotiations
- Draft, review, and negotiate MSAs, Work Orders, Change Orders, budgets, and rate cards
- Partner with Legal, Finance, Procurement, and Business Strategy teams to ensure smooth contract execution
- Track vendor obligations, budgets, and timelines to ensure compliance and operational alignment
- Support financial forecasting and outsourcing reporting activities
- Maintain accurate contract documentation and support process improvement initiatives
- Contribute to vendor management and outsourcing best practices across global R&D operations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Life Sciences, or a related discipline
- Minimum 7 years of experience managing end-to-end contracting with R&D service providers or CROs
- Proven experience negotiating contracts, budgets, and vendor agreements
- Strong understanding of clinical trial operations and vendor cost structures
- Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced global environment
Preferred Experience:
- Experience within global or matrixed biotech/pharma organisations
- Familiarity with contract lifecycle management systems and financial tools
- Understanding of budget tracking and financial forecasting processes
