Key Responsibilities

  • Assessment and Formulation: Conduct a range of psychological and psychiatric evaluations, including cognitive, behavioural, educational, and occupational assessments, using standardised instruments and evidence-based approaches.
  • Medicolegal Reporting: Prepare clear, objective, and expert reports for court proceedings, insurance claims, or other legal matters, adhering strictly to ethical and professional guidelines.
  • Treatment Provision: Deliver therapy or other interventions tailored to each client’s needs, drawing on established theoretical frameworks and current research evidence. Consult and collaborate with colleagues across multiple specialisms to develop integrated treatment plans, ensuring comprehensive patient care. Maintain appropriate registration and accreditation in line with professional and regulatory body requirements.

Ideal Psychologist Candidates

  • Clinical, Occupational, Educational, or Neuropsychologists with registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and/or Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Demonstrable experience in assessment, intervention, and report writing.
  • Familiarity with medicolegal processes and the ability to provide expert witness testimony are desirable.
  • Experience in assessment of autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, and mental health.
  • Must have been registered with the HCPC or relevant State Psychology for at least five years after qualifying.

Child Psychiatrists

  • Full registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Specialist registration in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Operating at consultant psychiatrist grade.
  • Have a PID number and a pad.
  • Competence in conducting psychiatric evaluations, including risk assessments and treatment planning.
  • Experience in the assessment and treatment of individuals with autism and ADHD.
