Position: Waking Night Support Worker

Location: Hackney, London

Hours: 37.5 contracted hours per week (Mon-Sun, including weekends and holidays)

Salary: £28,937.70 per annum (£14.80 p/h)

About the Role

Support customers with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs or mental health conditions to live the lives they choose. This role involves working nights and providing caring support to help customers maintain independence and safety.

Waking Night Activities

  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene (if required)
  • Ensuring premises are secure and safe during the night
  • Supporting meal times and food preparation (if required)
  • Medication administration (if required)
  • Support with independent skills
  • Keeping accurate records and updating care plans as required
  • Keeping up to date with training
  • Supporting regular checks on the customer to ensure their safety
  • Supporting domestic duties such as cleaning and laundry

About the Candidate

Applicants do not need prior care experience. Key qualities include:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Competency in completing quality support records
  • Availability to work every other weekend
  • Ability to follow a Support Plan and Risk Assessment and maintain customer records
  • Literacy and numeracy in English
  • Willingness to achieve the Care Certificate
