About Us
Advance is an award‑winning, women‑only organisation established in 1998, providing emotional and practical support to women and girls survivors of domestic abuse and supporting women with short‑term sentences to reduce offending. We champion empowerment, safety, equality and community participation.
About the role
The Young Persons Advocate will provide independent domestic violence advocacy and support for women, children and young people who have experienced abuse.
About You
You will have proven experience working with children and young people, preferably with a background in youth work. You should possess:
- Excellent understanding of violence against women and girls, risk management and best practice in the young people’s sector.
- Experience as a youth worker supporting young women and girls with complex and multiple needs.
- Strong skills in risk management, safety and support planning, and the ability to remain calm in crisis situations.
- Direct experience with young women and girls who have experienced abuse and familiarity with safeguarding procedures.
- Commitment to a partnership approach to service provision.
