About the Role:
Our client is looking to strengthen their Construction and Project Delivery team with the appointment of a Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of major projects within a long-term portfolio of works. Reporting to the Head of Construction or Operations Manager, you will take full responsibility for the direction, coordination and delivery of complex design and construction projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced project professional with a strong background in regulated infrastructure or utilities projects to join a well-established and growing delivery team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the safe and successful delivery of major multi-disciplinary projects from inception through to completion
- Managing project programmes, budgets, risks and resources to achieve key delivery objectives
- Ensuring all projects are delivered in line with company quality, safety and environmental standards
- Reviewing and approving Project Execution Plans (PEPs) and overseeing project controls throughout delivery
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and key stakeholders
- Ensuring construction plans, method statements and project documentation are in place and approved
- Managing commercial performance, forecasting and cost control across projects
- Leading project governance reviews and reporting on progress, risks and opportunities
- Supporting and motivating multi-disciplinary teams to deliver exceptional project outcomes
- Maintaining compliance with CDM regulations and construction health & safety requirements
- Promoting a collaborative and positive working culture across all project teams
About you:
- Proven experience delivering complex design and construction projects within the water sector or a similar regulated infrastructure environment
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a construction, engineering or commercial discipline
- Project Management qualification such as PMQ or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of NEC and/or IChemE contracts
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Commercially aware with strong project planning and risk management experience
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively at all levels
- Delivery focused with the ability to drive performance across multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong understanding of CDM regulations and construction health & safety legislation
- Strategic thinker with excellent operational and technical project delivery capabilities
- Positive, proactive and solutions-focused approach
