You will play an important role in helping to manage projects, ensuring technical excellence, stakeholder satisfaction, and the delivery of water-related schemes and programmes on time and within budget.

Our client is a well-established engineering consultancy with a strong presence across the UK and internationally. They deliver a diverse portfolio of projects across the water sector, including water treatment and supply, wastewater networks and treatment, flood mitigation, and wider environmental infrastructure programmes. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are now looking to strengthen their project delivery team with the addition of an Assistant Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working alongside experienced project managers, engineers, contractors, and key stakeholders, you will support the delivery of capital projects and programmes within the water sector.
  • Coordinating project activities across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Supporting project planning, scheduling, and programme management.
  • Assisting with the management of project risks, budgets, and milestones.
  • Building strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered in line with quality, safety, and environmental standards.

You may also have the opportunity to work directly alongside client teams, supporting programme management or PMO activities, gaining exposure to large-scale infrastructure project environments. Our client places a strong emphasis on professional development and will support you in continuing to build your career in project management, including gaining experience across complex infrastructure projects and working towards relevant professional accreditation.

About You

Our client is looking to speak with candidates who have circa 5–10 years' experience within the water sector, ideally gained within a civil or MEICA engineering consultancy environment. This role would suit someone who started their career in a technical engineering capacity and is now looking to progress further into project management, taking on greater responsibility for coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing project delivery, and engaging with stakeholders.
