An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Environmental Consultant to join a growing team, focusing on leading environmental management operations and compliance across various projects, particularly in the low-carbon transition sectors like renewable energy, grid infrastructure, and data projects.
This is a client-facing role that involves collaborating with internal teams, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead environmental consultancy services, including preparing Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs) and securing environmental consents and permits.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and oversee project operations, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Provide strategic advice to clients on environmental matters across design and build projects.
- Manage multiple project sites, ensuring adherence to environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Support clients through licensing and consenting processes (NSIP/DCO).
- Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIA) and site investigations.
- Drive business development by identifying new opportunities and strengthening client relationships.
- Mentor junior team members and ensure high-quality technical delivery.
- Strong understanding of UK environmental legislation, planning, and consenting.
- Experience in EIA, screening & scoping reports, and DCO processes for NSIPs.
- Chartered or working towards IEMA membership.
- Full UK driving licence (site visits required).
- Essential: Degree or HND in an Environmental/Construction related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in environmental consultancy and compliance.
- Desirable: IOSH Managing Safely.
- NEBOSH.
- SMSTS/SSSTS.
- Member (or working towards membership) of a relevant professional body (IEMA, CIEM, etc.).
- CSCS card (Gold/Black).
