An excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Bid Manager to lead and deliver high-value bids within a growing business unit generating c.£25m annual turnover. This role is pivotal in shaping winning strategies, driving collaboration across teams, and ensuring the successful conversion of opportunities into profitable contracts. You will provide leadership to the bid function, ensuring alignment with business objectives while maintaining compliance with internal governance and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and manage bid teams to deliver high-quality, competitive submissions
- Develop and implement bid-winning strategies using market intelligence, customer insight, and industry trends
- Collaborate with Business Development teams to identify, qualify, and convert new opportunities
- Build and maintain strong external relationships to enhance market presence and generate pipeline
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure bids are delivered on time and within budget
- Oversee the full bid lifecycle, from opportunity identification through to submission and contract award
- Undertake peer reviews and support governance processes, including presenting costings, risks, and opportunities at final settlement
- Ensure all submissions meet internal approval processes and compliance standards
About You
- Background in engineering, with prior experience as a Project Manager or Engineer
- Proven track record in Bid Management within infrastructure, engineering, or construction environments
- Strong commercial awareness with experience in cost modelling and risk identification
- Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills
- Ability to develop compelling, client-focused bid strategies
