Overview
We are seeking a Head of Hydro Power to lead and grow our presence within the hydro energy market. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving sales strategy, overseeing bid activity, and ensuring successful delivery across the full contract lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and deliver the commercial strategy for the Hydro division, driving market growth and positioning the business within the sector
- Lead all business development and sales activity, identifying and securing new opportunities
- Oversee the full bid and tendering process, ensuring high-quality, compliant submissions
- Negotiate complex contracts and maintain strong commercial oversight
- Act as the senior point of contact for key hydro clients, building and maintaining long-term relationships
- Represent the business at industry events, conferences and client meetings
- Provide strategic oversight of contract delivery, supporting teams from handover through to project completion
- Work closely with engineering and operational teams to align capability with market demand
- Lead, mentor and develop the hydro team, providing clear direction and leadership
Requirements
- Strong experience within the Hydro, Power Generation or wider energy sector
- Proven track record in business development, sales leadership and contract management
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing high-value bids and negotiations
- Technical understanding, ideally with an engineering background
- Knowledge of rotating machines and ability to interpret technical documentation
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strategic mindset with a proactive approach to growth and client engagement
- Willingness to travel across the UK and internationally
