Railway Telecoms CRE-D Rate: Up to £650 per day (Inside IR35) Duration: Long-Term Contract We are seeking an experienced Railway Telecoms CRE-D (Contractor's Responsible Engineer - Design) to support a portfolio of major rail infrastructure enhancement programmes. This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-term programme of works with significant investment and a strong pipeline of projects. The role offers predominantly remote working, with occasional attendance at head offices, project offices, client meetings, and project sites as required. Key Responsibilities Undertake the role of Telecoms CRE-D across multiple rail projects. Lead and assure telecoms design activities in accordance with Network Rail standards and project requirements. Provide technical leadership across complex rail telecoms systems. Interface and coordinate with signalling contractors and multidisciplinary design teams. Ensure compliance with railway engineering governance, standards, and safety requirements. Support design reviews, technical assurance activities, and engineering approvals. Contribute to major enhancement programmes while also supporting other telecoms projects as required. Essential Experience Proven experience operating as a Railway Telecoms CRE-D in the UK Extensive rail telecoms engineering and design experience within the UK rail industry. Strong knowledge of FTNx and Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM). Experience interfacing with signalling contractors and signalling disciplines. Demonstrable involvement in major rail enhancement programmes. Thorough understanding of Network Rail standards, governance, and engineering assurance processes.
