Are you an experienced PMO professional looking to take the lead on major infrastructure and Net Zero programmes? We're recruiting on behalf of a growing consultancy that is delivering high-profile projects across the UK's infrastructure sector. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping PMO functions, influencing programme delivery and working directly with senior stakeholders on complex, transformational programmes.

The Role

As a Principal Consultant - PMO, you'll lead the development and delivery of best-practice PMO services across a portfolio of infrastructure programmes. You'll combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, supporting clients to improve governance, reporting, planning and programme controls while mentoring colleagues and contributing to business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead PMO delivery across major infrastructure and sustainability programmes.
  • Design and implement PMO frameworks, governance and reporting structures.
  • Develop programme controls including RAID logs, dashboards and performance reporting.
  • Support portfolio planning, benefits management and investment decision-making.
  • Build strong relationships with senior client stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior consultants and assure the quality of project deliverables.
  • Support business development activities, proposals and client presentations.

About You

You’ll bring:

  • At least 8 years' experience in PMO, programme management or project controls.
  • Experience working within infrastructure, utilities, transport or Net Zero programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of recognised PMO methodologies such as P3O, MSP, MoP, APM, Agile or similar.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience producing high-quality reporting and management information.
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring teams.
  • A degree or relevant professional qualifications would be advantageous.
