If so, an exciting opportunity awaits you to take on substantial responsibilities in delivering OHL projects within my client\’s Transmission & Distribution division. This position offers flexibility, with locations available in Birmingham, Derby, Glasgow, London, or Manchester, aligning with my client\’s commitment to hybrid work arrangements.

As a vital member of my client\’s team, you\’ll lead OHL projects and oversee their deliverables, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Your role will encompass diverse tasks, including developing design criteria, selecting conductors and structures, coordinating insulation, and evaluating lightning performance. Additionally, you\’ll spearhead the creation of essential OHL design documents, such as line schedules, plan/profile drawings, staking tables, and specialised crossings.

Facilitating support and mentorship for your colleagues is integral to this role, fostering a collaborative environment where everyone can contribute effectively to project success.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as an Overhead Line Design Engineer, Senior Overhead Line Design Engineer, or Overhead Line Project Engineer, preferably within Transmission and Distribution projects. Key qualifications we find valuable include a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, or Civil Engineering, or equivalent industry experience. Previous involvement in the power industry within an OHL design capacity, coupled with CEng or IEng registration or working towards it, is preferred. Experience in developing OHL deliverables and managing OHL projects across multiple assignments is highly desirable.

Above all, my client seeks a collaborative team player with a passion for innovation and client service, ready to tackle diverse engineering challenges as my client\’s team continues to expand in the sector.
