About the Role:
Portsmouth Water has embarked on a £339m project to build a reservoir at Havant Thicket. This environmentally led project will safeguard future water supplies while creating a place of natural beauty for the local community to enjoy. The reservoir will provide wetland habitats, walking, cycling, running and horse-riding routes, as well as a visitor centre featuring a café and educational resources for schools. The project will be delivered primarily through a main reservoir contract and two pipeline contracts, alongside several related contracts.
The purpose of this role is to support the Lead Engineer in managing the assurance of all design activities across the project. The successful candidate will help facilitate the development of detailed design, commissioning and the eventual handover of the Havant Thicket Reservoir (HTR) by the main works contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the Lead Engineer by undertaking the following:
- Support the Engineering Lead in driving the design assurance process through meeting organisation, minute taking, tracking review responses, forecasting and regular reporting.
- Monitor and track design reviews to support the approval of design submissions from the main works contractors.
- Track responses to Technical Queries raised by the main works contractors, ensuring they are addressed within the timescales set out in the contract.
- Collate feedback from stakeholders involved in the design submission review process and consolidate comments into a single Client Comment Sheet.
- Engage with colleagues and stakeholders across the core Portsmouth Water business, particularly within Operations, Water Quality and Consents teams, to secure their input and report findings back to the Engineering Lead.
- Support the Engineering Lead in developing and implementing new systems and processes to enhance the engineering assurance function.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering-related discipline.
- Experience working on earthworks and/or pipeline projects.
- Experience supporting design and construction development within a BIM and Common Data Environment (CDE).
