Senior Track Engineer - Design Assurance - York or Manchester. 4 month intial contract (looking for a permanent appointment). Contract could extend.
Experienced Senior Track Engineer with a strong background in railway infrastructure, specialising in track design assurance and engineering governance.
Previous Network Rail experience with a thorough understanding of Network Rail standards, design processes and project lifecycle requirements.
Ideally PTS certified, with experience supporting projects from early development through to detailed design and delivery.
Responsible for undertaking design reviews, providing technical assurance and ensuring compliance with relevant standards across multiple rail infrastructure programmes.
Currently supporting the development and delivery of new projects throughout Yorkshire and the North West, overseeing the engineering assurance of four concurrent programmes and working closely with designers, project managers, contractors and key stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient and compliant project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Provide track engineering and design assurance across multiple rail projects.
Review track designs for compliance with Network Rail standards and engineering best practice.
Support projects through GRIP/PACE early development and design stages.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams and project stakeholders.
Identify engineering risks and provide technical solutions during design reviews.
Ensure quality, safety and constructability are embedded throughout the design process.
Manage engineering assurance activities across four concurrent programmes in Yorkshire and the North West.
Support project delivery from concept through to construction readiness and handover.
