The predicted salary is between 45000 - 55000 Β£ per year.

Reporting to: Section Engineer / Senior Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Section Engineering team with the planning, preparation and development of sketches, methodologies, plans and procedures required for mobilisation and delivery of the works.
  • Assist with site mobilisation and establishment in coordination with the General Foreman and Works Manager.
  • Work closely with subcontractors to ensure timely preparation, approval and implementation of RAMS, ITPs, permits, consents and associated documentation.
  • Coordinate day-to-day site activities and planning to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with the programme.
  • Ensure Permit to Dig, Temporary Works and other relevant safety systems are properly implemented and maintained.
  • Liaise with Section Foremen to ensure works are undertaken in accordance with approved safe systems and construction methodologies.
  • Identify temporary works requirements at an early stage and ensure they are designed, approved and implemented in accordance with project procedures.
  • Ensure all quality inspections and checks are completed in accordance with approved ITPs and that records are accurately maintained.
  • Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), coordinating corrective actions through to close-out.
  • Provide engineering and site support to other project teams, including Community Relations, Highways and Logistics, as required.

Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities

  • Maintain health, safety and environmental standards as the highest priority throughout delivery of the works.
  • Demonstrate full commitment to the project's Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and objectives.
  • Ensure HSE requirements are effectively communicated to the workforce and consistently implemented on site.

Programme & Supply Chain Management

  • Support and update the four-week look-ahead programme, monitoring progress and identifying potential delays.
  • Manage and coordinate the supply chain to ensure works are delivered efficiently and in accordance with safety, environmental, quality and programme requirements.
  • Understand the scope of works and proactively identify potential change, variations and additional works.
  • Promote continuous improvement, innovation, best practice and consistent application of project standards and procedures.
  • Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as required by the project.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience within civil engineering or major infrastructure projects, preferably involving the construction of reinforced concrete structures.
  • Valid and relevant CSCS card.
  • Proven experience in pipe jacking - this is an essential requirement and must be clearly demonstrated on the CV.
  • Experience with setting out and land surveying.
  • Strong understanding of ITPs, RAMS, permits and quality documentation.
  • Experience across earthworks and deep drainage.
  • Ability to maintain accurate site diaries and records.
  • Experience supporting and updating construction programmes and short-term look-ahead programmes.
  • Strong understanding of site coordination, subcontractor management and safe systems of work.
