The Role
Looking for an ambitious Assistant Package Manager (or Section Engineer) to assist in driving the delivery of major Structural Steel and Envelope packages (Roofing, Cladding, Glazing) on a Tier 1 mega-project. You will work directly alongside the Package Manager to drive subcontractor progress on site, manage activity readiness, support NEC3 contract administration, and coordinate day-to-day site interfaces. They are looking for someone to be on site 4 days a week, with 1 day a week working from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Package Support: Assist the Package Manager in the daily management of structural steel, roofing, cladding, and glazing scopes.
- Subcontractor Tracking: Monitor daily subcontractor site activities, track plant and labour counts, and accurately log progress against key package deliverables.
- Activity Readiness & Documentation: Manage Activity Readiness certification processes and navigate project documentation through required approval workflows.
- Commercial & NEC3 Administration: Work with the package team and Quantity Surveyor to track scope changes, raise early warnings, and identify notifiable events.
- Interface Coordination: Coordinate between site teams, design teams, and subcontractors to highlight design clashes and keep site works moving smoothly.
- Safety & Quality: Promote safety and quality standards on site.
