Senior / Principal HydrogeologistSalary: £45,000 to £56,000 (dependent on experience)Location: Saltaire (West Yorkshire), Leeds or Bristol – Hybrid WorkingContract: Permanent | Full Time or Part Time
The Role:Our client is seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Hydrogeologist to support and lead the delivery of groundwater and water resource projects. The role has a strong technical focus on groundwater modelling and groundwater resources, including geothermal and mine water, alongside project leadership and client delivery.
You will join a multidisciplinary groundwater team working across environmental, water resources, and engineering projects, delivering sustainable and resilient solutions for a wide range of clients.

Your Role & Responsibilities:Provide technical leadership on groundwater and water resource-led projectsLead project delivery, governance, and technical accountabilityDevelop sustainable and resilient groundwater solutions that meet client needsChampion technical innovation to improve efficiency and quality of deliveryMentor and support early-career hydrogeologistsBuild strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and key stakeholdersManage projects end-to-end, including contracts, budgets, programmes, risk, and change controlLead and support successful tender submissions and business development activitiesContribute to the growth of the groundwater and environmental capabilityProject Exposure:Groundwater resources, supply, and risk assessmentGroundwater modellingGeothermal and mine water projectsGroundwater flood risk managementNature-based solutions and water resilienceRiver and habitat restorationNatural flood managementClients span the public, private, and third sectors, including regulators, water companies, energy organisations, local authorities, and environmental trusts.
About You:We are looking for motivated, technically strong Hydrogeologists who are passionate about sustainability and water resources.
Essential:
Experience at Senior or Principal level within hydrogeology or groundwater resourcesBackground in groundwater modelling and water resourcesStrong project leadership and technical delivery skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsAbility to mentor and support junior team membersExperience managing projects, budgets, and programmesQualifications:
First and second degree (or equivalent) in geology, earth sciences, environmental science, or a related disciplineChartered or working towards professional chartership (or equivalent)Desirable:
