We are currently seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to join a major highways and public realm scheme focused on regeneration and improving walking and cycling infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a high-profile project delivering long-term community benefits.
We are ideally looking for someone with solid experience in highways, public realm, and active travel schemes (cycle paths, street works, etc.), though we may consider a more senior individual if they demonstrate strong experience and capability.
Project Overview
The scheme is centred around regeneration works to enhance walking and cycling routes, including the construction of new cycle paths and associated public realm improvements.
Key Works Include:
- Temporary traffic management
- Coordination and assistance with statutory undertaker utility works
- Carriageway resurfacing and surface treatments
- Kerbing, footways, and cycleways
- Signal junction improvements and controlled crossings
- Signing and road markings
- Relocation of bus shelters
- Road lighting
- Landscaping and tree works
- Minor structures
- Arts and Culture package as part of social value delivery
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day site supervision and coordination of works
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification
- Managing subcontractors and liaising with stakeholders
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and quality
- Supporting delivery of social value elements within the scheme
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Site Supervisor within highways and/or public realm works
- Strong understanding of traffic management and live environment projects
- Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and stakeholders
- SMSTS (or equivalent) preferred
- Good communication and organisational skills
