Our client, a leading water company, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Design Manager to join their team and play a key role in delivering innovative and sustainable design solutions for AMP8 clean and wastewater projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly impactful industry, contributing to the future of water infrastructure & non-infrastructure while managing multidisciplinary teams on major projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design process for AMP8 clean and wastewater projects, ensuring high-quality, innovative, and cost-effective solutions.
- Coordinate and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including engineers, consultants, and contractors.
- Oversee the design development, from concept through to delivery, ensuring all designs meet client specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain excellent communication with internal stakeholders, external contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
- Provide technical expertise and support in the resolution of design-related issues during the project lifecycle.
- Ensure all designs are aligned with industry best practices, health and safety standards, and environmental sustainability goals.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture within the design team.
Key Requirements:
- A degree in a relevant engineering or design discipline (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, etc.).
- Ideally, Chartered status with a recognized professional institution (e.g., ICE, IMechE, IET, CIWEM).
- Extensive experience in design management, with a focus on clean and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects.
- A proven track record of managing multidisciplinary design teams and delivering complex projects successfully.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and quality.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices.
