My client is looking for an experienced Construction Site Manager to lead the site delivery of major engineering projects from mobilisation through to final handover within the HV Power Distribution & Connections Sector. The Role
As Construction Site Manager, you’ll take full ownership of site operations on projects valued over £1m (and up to £15m cumulatively). You’ll manage sub-contractors, coordinate resources, and ensure delivery against scope, budget and timelines—without compromising safety or quality. You’ll play a key role in customer satisfaction, team coordination, and site safety compliance, while promoting a culture of integrity, performance and accountability.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and manage site operations, ensuring all Health & Safety procedures (CDM, risk assessments, incident reporting) are fully met
- Be the main point of contact for the customer and internal teams on site
- Manage planning, reporting and site delivery of high-value projects
- Oversee materials procurement and site setup
- Maintain strong contractor and supplier relationships to drive delivery and cost-efficiency
- Represent the business with a professional attitude and positive behaviours
- Provide support to the Project Manager when needed
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience managing construction sites for engineering projects
- Strong planning skills – long-term and short-term (look-ahead plans)
- Construction Management NVQ (or equivalent), or a relevant engineering apprenticeship
- CSCS card + Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) accreditation
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Excellent communicator – written and verbal – with strong numeracy
- Competence in Microsoft Office tools
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Experience with Mechanical, Electrical, Gas, Water & Fire systems
- Knowledge of LV/HV systems and associated plant
- PASMA, IPAF, ECS, and Confined Space training
- NRSWA accreditation for working on/near highways
