Outside IR35 contract opportunity to work on HS2. This role supports the delivery of HS2 during the construction phase by responding to technical bridge and structural design queries arising from site. Acting as the on-site design representative, the Principal Bridge Engineer provides timely, compliant engineering solutions to resolve construction issues, design changes, and non-conformances.

  • Respond to technical queries, Field Change Requests (FCRs), and Non-Conformance Records (NCRs), managing reviews and compliant technical responses.
  • Attend inspections, resolve design and constructability issues, and provide practical solutions.
  • Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for structural works.
  • Contribute to design and technical meetings with delivery and quality teams.
  • Provide input to temporary works certification where permanent works may be affected.

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Contract details: ~6-month contract initially – with a view to renewing.
