I am looking for a Chartered Structural Engineer with a strong background working on large scale steel and concrete structures. This company specialises in providing civil and structural engineering design solutions for energy from waste projects. They contribute to facilities utilising waste to energy processes such as anaerobic digestion and non-hazardous waste combustion.
Their expertise includes the design of key structures like processing buildings, reinforced pits, and storage tanks, as well as related infrastructure such as internal offices and site access roads. They support the development of low-carbon energy initiatives through efficient design of these facilities.
The Role:
You will have previous experience working in a similar role within programmes from a civil / structures aspect. This role would suit an existing Structural Engineer within the renewables or energy to waste sector.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design and engineering of large-scale steel and concrete structures for renewable energy and waste-to-energy projects.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on the structural design of reinforced concrete bunkers, pits, process interfaces, and ancillary structures.
- Lead structural design efforts on projects such as energy transmission stations, primary processing buildings, and related civil works.
- Provide innovative structural solutions that meet project and environmental requirements.
- Oversee the structural integrity of installations from conception through to construction, working closely with contractors and site teams.
Essential requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Proven experience in the design of large-scale steel and concrete structures.
- Knowledge of structural engineering principles in relation to renewable energy, waste-to-energy, or similar industries.
- Proficiency in industry-standard structural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, STAAD, Tekla, etc.).
- Strong communication and project management skills.
Key Takeaways:
- Opportunity to work on high-impact, sustainable energy projects.
- Join a collaborative team offering support throughout the full life cycle of projects, from conception to implementation.
- Competitive salary and benefits package, with hybrid working and opportunities for career progression.
