Overview: We are working with a well-regarded consultancy in London that is looking to appoint multiple Structural Design Engineers. These are permanent positions ideal for engineers with around 3-4 years of experience. The team is open to candidates with either a transportation infrastructure bias, experience in temporary works, or both.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver detailed structural design work across a variety of projects
- Collaborate closely with contractors and respond to technical queries during the construction phase
- Ensure all designs are buildable, efficient, and compliant with current standards
- Work within a multidisciplinary environment alongside other engineering teams
- Support junior team members and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
Requirements:
- Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Around 3-4 years of relevant structural design experience (flexibility for the right candidate)
- Strong background in detailed design – not just feasibility or early-stage work
- Proven experience liaising with contractors and resolving construction-phase design queries
- Familiarity with UK design standards and construction practices
- Experience in transportation structures, temporary works, or a combination of both
Desirable:
- Progressing toward Chartership (IStructE or ICE)
- Proficiency in structural design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, Robot, or similar
- Previous consultancy or infrastructure project experience
Eligibility:
You must have the right to work in the UK – applicants without valid UK work authorisation will not be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
