Our client is seeking a motivated Signalling Project Engineer to support engineering delivery on a variety of rail signalling projects. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role offers great exposure to both design and site activities, including opportunities to be involved trackside during commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the engineering lead and take ownership of smaller engineering work packages
  • Prepare for and contribute to interdisciplinary design reviews
  • Develop Engineering Management Plans and contribute to risk assessments
  • Write technical reports and manage materials lists
  • Liaise effectively with client engineers and resolve engineering issues on site and with design teams
  • Assist in preparation of estimates and tender documents
  • Create and manage trackers and registers for engineering deliverables
  • Produce and collate O&M manuals and Health & Safety files
  • Support design, testing, construction, and project management activities
  • Opportunity to undertake Assistant Testing duties trackside during commissioning phases

What You’ll Bring:

  • HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent technical qualification (preferably electrical or electronic)
  • Holds one or more IRSE Licence(s)
  • Previous site experience with knowledge of railway signalling, including level crossings
  • Completed a recognised railway signalling training scheme (e.g., apprenticeship or graduate programme)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a flexible, can-do attitude
  • Able to work well within a team as well as independently
  • Fit and able to work trackside and hold valid PTS certification
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
