Our client is currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their technical team. The selected candidate will hold a senior position within the team and will be responsible for the design of geotechnical packages throughout the project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies and cost evaluations to the finalisation and verification of formal design packages for retaining solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage geotechnical ground investigation scope, including the preparation and review of ground investigation design and interpretative reports.
- Deliver geotechnical design solutions for foundations, retaining walls, earthworks and basements, including design specifications, calculations and validation checks.
- Undertake and review desk studies to assess ground conditions, geohazards and associated risks to inform design development.
- Carry out and oversee slope stability assessments and ground movement and settlement analysis.
- Produce and review high quality geotechnical assessments, technical reports and supporting documentation in accordance with relevant UK standards and project requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and contribute to design reviews and multidisciplinary coordination.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of five years relevant UK geotechnical design experience.
- Interpretive reports experience.
- Chartered or working towards chartership with a recognised professional institution.
- Strong knowledge of UK standards.
