We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a major infrastructure project supporting the delivery of the HS2 programme in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor with strong NEC contract experience and a background working on large-scale civil engineering, rail, or infrastructure projects.

Working within a high-performing commercial team, you will be responsible for the effective commercial management of project costs, subcontractors, change management, valuations, and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of valuations and applications for payment
  • Preparation of cost reports and commercial reporting
  • Contract administration and change management under NEC contracts
  • Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules
  • Management of subcontractor and supplier accounts
  • Administration and agreement of final accounts
  • Identification and management of commercial risks and opportunities
  • Value engineering and cost control
  • Preparation and maintenance of commercial registers
  • Take-offs from drawings and remeasurement of works
  • Updating and managing Bills of Quantities (BoQ)

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ Quantity Surveying experience
  • Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Strong NEC contract knowledge and experience
  • Experience working on major infrastructure, rail, or civil engineering projects
  • Competent in take-offs and remeasurement from drawings
  • Experience managing Bills of Quantities (BoQ)
  • Commercially astute with strong contract administration skills
  • Relevant industry qualification
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • HS2 project experience
  • Major civils project experience
  • Rail infrastructure experience
  • Experience working within Tier 1 contractor environments
