About the Role: Advance TRS are working with a leading consultancy who are looking for a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Water team. This is a key technical leadership role within the team where you will join a high-impact water infrastructure programme delivering sustainable solutions across the UK. Our client are looking for an experienced engineer to lead on clean water and wastewater projects from concept to construction.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the production of mechanical design deliverables (layouts, calculations, specs, reports)
- Manage multidisciplinary design interfaces (especially P&IDs)
- Support procurement, site teams, and commissioning
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers
- Ensure compliance with standards, budgets, and timelines
Requirements:
- 8+ years in mechanical design, ideally within water or related sectors
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Proficiency in plant layout, hydraulic design, and equipment specification
- Strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills
- Chartered status (IEng/CEng) is a plus
