Our client is looking for an experienced Flood Modeller / Hydrology Consultant to support a growing portfolio of challenging and diverse projects across Scotland. About the Client
Our client is an independent consultancy established in 2012, specialising in flood risk, hydraulic modelling, and water-related services. Their team includes specialists across flood risk, civil engineering, and environmental management – all driven by the goal of unlocking development potential through sustainable water solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) compliant with NPF4 (Policies 10 & 22)
- Develop hydrological inputs using WINFAP, ReFH2, and FEH statistical methods
- Build and review hydraulic models (1D/2D) using Flood Modeller, ESTRY, and TuFLOW
- Translate complex model outputs into accessible and actionable insights for clients
- Liaise with SEPA and local authorities, ensuring high standards of technical delivery
- Collaborate as part of a distributed team, managing time and project resources effectively
- Support and lead elements of project bidding, management, and client care
What Our Client is Looking For
- A minimum of 4 years’ UK-based experience in flood risk / hydrology consultancy
- A relevant degree in Geography, Environmental Management, Civil or Water Engineering
- Proficiency with key flood modelling software (Flood Modeller, TuFLOW, ESTRY)
- Strong understanding of SEPA requirements and national planning policy frameworks
- Ability to write clear, technically robust reports and explain modelling decisions confidently
- Motivation to progress professionally, ideally towards chartership (CIWEM or equivalent)
