Our client is looking for a Civil Engineer to join their Flood Risk and Sustainable Water Engineering team, supporting the delivery of infrastructure and development projects across the UK. The role will involve working on schemes ranging from £100,000 to £100 million, contributing to flood risk solutions, hydraulic modelling, hydrology assessments, river engineering, and drainage strategies including SuDS and natural flood management. The successful candidate will support projects throughout the full lifecycle, from early‑stage feasibility and client engagement through to detailed design and project completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of flood risk and water engineering projects across the UK
  • Undertake hydraulic and hydrological assessments
  • Contribute to drainage strategies, including SuDS and natural flood management
  • Assist with river engineering and flood risk solution design
  • Support project delivery from inception through to completion
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across a range of infrastructure projects
  • Assist with report writing, technical documentation, and presentations
  • Support bids, proposals, and wider business development activities
  • Mentor and support junior team members where appropriate

What Our Client is Looking For

  • 2-5 years’ experience within flood risk, water, or civil engineering
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Experience in hydraulics, hydrology, drainage, or flood risk projects
  • Knowledge of GIS and spatial analysis tools
  • Strong communication and report writing skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Working towards or already holding chartership with ICE or CIWEM is desirable
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
  • UK project experience is essential
