About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support our growing pipeline of commercial CAT A and CAT B fit‐out projects across London. Working with a dynamic and agile SME, you'll take a lead role in delivering high‐quality mechanical design solutions from concept through to construction stage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical design and coordination of commercial fit‐out projects (CAT A & B)
- Produce detailed mechanical drawings, specifications, schematics, and schedules
- Perform heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and public health design calculations
- Conduct site surveys, technical assessments, and attend design and coordination meetings
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including architects, contractors, and end clients
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, regulations, and sustainability standards
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers (if required)
Requirements:
- Minimum 7+ years' experience in mechanical building services design
- Strong background in commercial CAT A and CAT B fit‐out projects
- Proficient in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp, IES)
- Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations and CIBSE guidelines
- Comfortable working autonomously within a small team environment
- Strong communication and client‐facing skills

- Start Date: ASAP
- Contract Length: 6 months (possible extension)
- Rate: Circa £45/hour (Outside IR35)
- Location: London‐based projects; flexible/hybrid working options may be available
