My Client, a market leading engineering consultancy operating in the UK water industry, are seeking a MEICA Discipline Lead to join their expanding Water business. This is a strategically important role playing a key part in the delivery of essential infrastructure projects as part of the AMP8 capital investment programmes. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across a portfolio of client projects and programmes across the north of England across Mechanical, Electrical and ICA disciplines.
In addition to a proven track record as a technical specialist in the delivery of key projects and programmes at Senior Principal Engineer and above in either electrical, ICA or Mechanical discipline engineering, this role requires significant strategic and technical leadership driving design projects from initial concept and optioneering through to detailed design and delivery. The discipline lead role includes oversight and responsibility for ensuring technical excellence across a diverse portfolio of major projects across water and waste water engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Technical Leadership: Lead the MEICA design process from feasibility through to detailed design and commissioning.
- Team Management: Lead and inspire a team of engineers.
- Influencing design standards and ensuring key outputs delivered to high standards.
- Client & Stakeholder interface.
Applicants should ideally hold a degree or equivalent in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or an aligned or alternative qualification and should be a full member of a suitable professional body. Direct engineering experience within water and waste water engineering in the UK or overseas is highly desirable, whilst applicants with relevant experience from aligned sectors such as Oil and Gas, environmental engineering and infrastructure engineering are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications & Experience- Professional Standing: Chartered Engineer (CEng) with a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Technical Expertise: A proven track record in MEICA engineering design, specifically in developing control philosophies, technical specifications, and constructible solutions for large-scale infrastructure.
- Leadership Capability: Demonstrated experience in managing engineering teams and a genuine commitment to mentoring the next generation of technical talent.
