About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer with approximately 5 years' experience to join a busy London office. The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects, predominantly in the rail sector, though experience in other markets will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analysis of geotechnical embankments and earthworks
- Piling and foundation design
- Retaining wall design
- Slope stability analysis
- Ground investigation design and reporting
- Site investigation assessment and interpretation
- Contributing to detailed geotechnical design deliverables
Candidate Requirements
- Around 5 years of geotechnical engineering experience (candidates with less experience may be considered if they have strong, demonstrable design achievements)
- Strong knowledge of foundation, slope, and retaining wall design
- Experience with earthworks, embankments, and piling methods
- Ability to interpret and manage site investigation data
- Office-based, full-time (5 days per week)
Skills & Software (desirable)
- Plaxis, Geo5, AutoCAD or similar geotechnical/design software
- Experience producing design reports and technical documentation
This is a hands‐on design role requiring strong technical expertise and attention to detail. The client is open to considering candidates from a variety of project backgrounds beyond rail if they demonstrate strong design experience.
