This is a fantastic opportunity to play a leading role in ecological assessment and habitat design for a range of development and nature recovery projects. You will be responsible for driving forward innovative, pragmatic approaches to ecological mitigation and compensation while collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
You will manage and mentor colleagues, lead ecology workstreams, and ensure delivery of high-quality, concise ecological outputs in line with industry best practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake ecological assessments and habitat design for varied projects.
- Develop innovative mitigation and compensation strategies.
- Lead ecology workstreams and manage project deliverables.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and liaise with clients and stakeholders.
- Oversee quality assurance of ecological deliverables.
- Provide mentorship and line management support to junior team members.
- Contribute to bids and project management from inception to completion.
What Our Client is Looking For:
- Passion for ecology and conservation.
- Strong ornithological expertise.
- In-depth knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and ecological guidance.
- Ability to conduct UKHab surveys, PEAs, EcIAs, HRAs, and BNG assessments.
- Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
- Experience in protected species survey, mitigation, and licensing.
- Chartered (CEnv or CEcol) or eligible for chartership.
- Full UK driving licence.
