The Role

My client is seeking an experienced Lead Grid & Primary Design Engineer to work on critical projects from concept and feasibility through to procurement, construction, and commissioning. This role will involve leading the design of grid and primary substation projects (11kV-132kV) on private networks in collaboration with customers.

Qualifications

• HNC (or higher) in a relevant discipline
• Strong expertise in primary substation design (11kV-132kV including plant specification)
• Awareness of power transformer design and procurement
• Proven background in electrical engineering design with strong knowledge of the electricity distribution sector
• Experience with CDM regulations in utility projects
• Track record in planning, design, and commissioning of 132kV substations and private customer connections
• Working knowledge of Etap, DigSilent or similar software
• Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel
