About the Opportunity

We are currently supporting the search for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading consultancy team delivering major projects across Glasgow and the West of Scotland. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded QS to take ownership of high-value, complex schemes across a diverse portfolio including education, residential, infrastructure, and public sector developments. You will play a key role in delivering best-in-class cost and commercial management services while supporting the growth of a high-performing regional team.

The Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for leading commercial delivery across multiple projects, working closely with clients, design teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading full cost management services from feasibility through to final account
  • Preparing detailed cost plans, estimates, and commercial reports
  • Managing post-contract administration under NEC, JCT, and SBCC contracts
  • Providing commercial advice and risk management strategies across projects
  • Monitoring budgets, forecasts, and financial performance
  • Supporting procurement strategy and tender analysis
  • Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships
  • Mentoring and supporting junior Quantity Surveyors
  • Contributing to business growth through bid support and client engagement

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Strong experience in a consultancy or client-side environment
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
  • Excellent knowledge of NEC and JCT/SBCC contracts
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
  • Experience across pre- and post-contract QS duties
  • MRICS chartership (or working towards) highly desirable
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • A proactive and leadership-driven approach
