Senior Mechanical Engineer – Water
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy delivering major water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the UK.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll play a key role in the design and delivery of projects across major AMP programmes.
You’ll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility and outline design through to detailed design, while working closely with clients, contractors and fellow engineering disciplines.
This role offers excellent opportunities for career progression, technical development and the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of challenging infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver mechanical design for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Produce and review calculations, technical specifications and design documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical engineering solutions.
- Liaise with clients, contractors and key project stakeholders.
- Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, health & safety requirements and quality procedures.
About You
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Working towards or already achieved Chartered Engineer status.
- Experience delivering mechanical design within the UK water sector.
- Knowledge of pumping systems, treatment processes and mechanical plant.
- Experience using CAD/Revit and an understanding of BIM principles is advantageous.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
