The predicted salary is between 55 - 55 £ per hour.

Opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support complex engineering projects, delivering designs from concept to detailed stage across major systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Accountable for supporting design work on major fusion sub-systems, from concept through to detailed design on enhancement programs for facilities as well as for future fusion devices.
  • Accountable for design aspects relating to all assigned systems/components including repair, replacement or upgrade activities.
  • Deliver electrical designs, upgrades, and modifications.
  • Produce technical documentation (drawings, BoMs, cable schedules).
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Support design validation and collaborate with wider teams.
  • Apply design for manufacture and value engineering principles.

Requirements

  • Electrical Engineering background with Control & Instrumentation experience.
  • Knowledge of UK/EU electrical standards (incl. BS EN 60204-1).
  • Solid Works (Electrical) CAD experience.
  • Strong design, technical documentation, and communication skills.
  • Relevant qualification (Degree/HNC/HND or equivalent).
  • Proficient in the knowledge and application of recognised drawing standards and BS EN 61082 in particular.

Desirable

  • BS 7671 (18th Edition).
  • Experience with SolidWorks Electrical (currently used), EPLAN, or AutoCAD Electrical.

BPSS clearance will be required.
