Opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support complex engineering projects, delivering designs from concept to detailed stage across major systems.
What You’ll Do
- Accountable for supporting design work on major fusion sub-systems, from concept through to detailed design on enhancement programs for facilities as well as for future fusion devices.
- Accountable for design aspects relating to all assigned systems/components including repair, replacement or upgrade activities.
- Deliver electrical designs, upgrades, and modifications.
- Produce technical documentation (drawings, BoMs, cable schedules).
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Support design validation and collaborate with wider teams.
- Apply design for manufacture and value engineering principles.
Requirements
- Electrical Engineering background with Control & Instrumentation experience.
- Knowledge of UK/EU electrical standards (incl. BS EN 60204-1).
- Solid Works (Electrical) CAD experience.
- Strong design, technical documentation, and communication skills.
- Relevant qualification (Degree/HNC/HND or equivalent).
- Proficient in the knowledge and application of recognised drawing standards and BS EN 61082 in particular.
Desirable
- BS 7671 (18th Edition).
- Experience with SolidWorks Electrical (currently used), EPLAN, or AutoCAD Electrical.
BPSS clearance will be required.
