This is a senior technical role focused on asset management and operational resilience across the water sector. It offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience working directly for the industry regulator, influencing policy, performance frameworks and investment outcomes at a national level.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading delivery of a national Asset Management Maturity Assessment
- Supporting the development of integrated monitoring frameworks for operational resilience
- Analysing complex performance and asset data to inform regulatory decisions
- Managing projects, contracts, budgets and stakeholder engagement
- Working closely with senior internal leaders and external sector stakeholders
- Coaching and supporting colleagues within a multidisciplinary environment

You’ll join a specialist Asset Management & Operational Resilience team within a wider performance‑focused directorate. The team operates at the forefront of sector improvement, shaping best practice and driving maturity in asset management and resilience across the industry. Work is collaborative, high‑profile and fast‑moving, with strong exposure across the organisation.
Requirements
We’re seeking candidates with:
- Experience in asset management, capital programmes, operations or infrastructure delivery
- Strong understanding of water or regulated utility assets (water sector experience desirable, not essential)
- Knowledge of asset health, resilience and performance measurement
- Proven project delivery experience with multiple stakeholders
- Strong analytical capability and confidence working with complex data
- Clear communication skills with both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Experience working in multi‑disciplinary environments
Candidates may come from utilities, consultancies, infrastructure operators, supply‑chain organisations or other regulated sectors.
