Graduate Landscape Architect

Advance TRS is working with an established multidisciplinary design consultancy to recruit a Graduate Landscape Architect to join its growing Landscape Architecture team in Cardiff.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Landscape Architect with a minimum of one year's professional experience to develop their career within a collaborative design environment, working alongside specialists across architecture, interior design and other built-environment disciplines.

Our client operates as an integrated practice, with teams collaborating across a broad network of UK and Ireland studios.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to a varied portfolio of projects across different sectors and stages of delivery.

The Role

The successful candidate will support the delivery of landscape architecture projects from early design through to later project stages.

They will work both independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team, contributing creative ideas and technical knowledge to high-quality design solutions.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Contributing to landscape architecture projects across a range of sectors, potentially including education, healthcare, residential, public realm and commercial developments.
  • Supporting projects through different stages of design and delivery.
  • Producing landscape design information, drawings and presentation material.
  • Working collaboratively with architects, interior designers and other members of multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Assisting with technical documentation and specification information.
  • Contributing to site work, surveys and project development where required.
  • Developing knowledge of relevant UK regulations, standards and best practice.
  • Supporting the continued development of the landscape team through a proactive and collaborative approach.
  • About the Candidate

Advance TRS is looking for someone who is enthusiastic about landscape architecture and keen to develop their professional experience within a supportive consultancy environment.

Applicants should have

  • A relevant Master's degree or equivalent qualification in Landscape Architecture.
  • A minimum of 1 year's professional experience within Landscape Architecture.
  • Experience contributing to live landscape architecture projects.
  • Strong graphic and visual communication skills.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop and In Design.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software; knowledge of Revit, Archi CAD or similar platforms would be advantageous.
  • Some understanding of landscape specifications and technical documentation, including NBS, would be beneficial.
  • An understanding of relevant UK regulations and standards, or a willingness to develop this knowledge.
  • The ability to communicate design ideas effectively through written, visual and verbal methods.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A proactive attitude towards learning, professional development and delivering high-quality design work.
  • Experience with Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) would be advantageous but is not essential.
