A leading civil engineering organisation is dedicated to delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK and is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join a team based in Bristol and Swindon, responsible for the robust commercial management of a range of projects delivered under a long‑term stations and buildings maintenance and renewals framework running to 2029. The works include canopies, buildings, depots, platform structures, car parks, and subways.
You will play a key role in the successful delivery of this framework, ensuring projects are managed effectively, remain commercially compliant, and meet contractual and business plan commitments.
The Role:
- Managing all project costs in line with contractual agreements
- Overseeing financial performance, ensuring profit targets and efficiency savings are achieved
- Administering change control processes and meeting contractual timescales
- Identifying, managing, and mitigating risks and opportunities
- Delivering compliant procurement processes and managing the supply chain
- Handling commercial queries and providing advice on contractual and dispute matters
- Monitoring project progress through site visits, financial logs, and forecasts
- Preparing for and attending monthly cost review meetings, identifying variations and actions
- Ensuring compliance with internal assurance processes, client requirements, and legislation
- Working closely with project teams, clients, and suppliers to promote collaboration and professionalism
About you:
- You are confident building strong working relationships and influencing others.
- You demonstrate resilience and creative problem‑solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- You can work independently, manage competing demands, and bring strong organisational and analytical capabilities.
- Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying role
- Background within a civil engineering environment
- Experience working with NEC contracts
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Professional membership of RICS or CICES (desirable)
