We are seeking an experienced Sustainability Consultant / Building Performance Engineer with strong expertise in IES modelling, operational energy assessments, and low‑carbon building design. The role sits within a specialist sustainability & building performance team working on a broad range of projects across the built environment.

Key Responsibilities- Deliver IES VE modelling across a range of building types
- Carry out operational energy modelling, including NABERS and BREEAM ENE01 assessments
- Complete modelling and reporting for Part L (compliance and optimisation)
- Undertake overheating analysis using approved methodologies
- Prepare technical reports, evidence documents, and sustainability assessments
- Work closely with multidisciplinary design teams to support low‑carbon strategies
- Provide technical input on energy performance and building simulation best practice
Essential:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in sustainability, building performance or energy modelling
- Strong ability with IES VE
- Experience in operational energy modelling
- Knowledge of NABERS, BREEAM ENE01, and associated energy credits
- Strong understanding of Part L and associated compliance pathways
- Experience of overheating modelling (TM52 / TM59 or equivalent)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within project teams
Desirable:
- Experience in wider sustainability or carbon consultancy
- Understanding of net‑zero carbon strategies
- Degree in engineering, environmental science, sustainability or similar
