Advance TRS are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with a solid foundation in the UK regulated water industry to join a growing and well-established engineering consultancy. This role is well suited to an engineer with 3+ years’ experience working on water and wastewater infrastructure projects within a consultancy or framework environment. You will contribute to the delivery of mechanical designs for a range of clean and wastewater projects, including work at Sewage Treatment Works, as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

The Role

  • Produce mechanical designs for water and wastewater projects across all design stages
  • Support AMP framework delivery, from concept through to detailed design
  • Collaborate with civil, electrical, and process engineers to deliver coordinated solutions
  • Ensure designs comply with UK water industry standards, client specifications, and regulations
  • Prepare design calculations, reports, and technical documentation

About You

  • At least 3 years’ experience in mechanical design within the UK regulated water sector
  • Background in engineering consultancy or framework delivery
  • Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes and mechanical systems
  • Confident working within multidisciplinary design teams
  • Able to attend the Croydon, Swindon, or Exeter office 2-3 days per week
