We’re looking for an experienced ground investigation professional to join a multidisciplinary company. You’ll manage and supervise ground investigations, collect and interpret site and lab data, and produce technical reports across infrastructure sectors including rail, highways, and waterways.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage ground investigation tasks and coordinate supply chains.
- Conduct fieldwork including soil and rock logging, sampling, and in-situ testing.
- Prepare factual reports and schedule lab analyses.
- Ensure health and safety compliance on site.
- Collaborate across disciplines to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
- Maintain strong client relationships and clear communication.
Requirements
- Degree in Geology or Earth Sciences.
- Must have at least a couple of years of post‑grad experience in the UK on geo‑environmental projects.
- Site supervision experience (e.g. drilling contractors).
- Strong understanding of ground investigation risks and safety.
- SSSTS/SMSTS preferred.
- Skilled in factual reporting.
- Progressing toward professional chartership.
- Experience in rail/highways is a plus.
Contract Details
- 6-month initial contract.
- Location: S.W England (sites along the M3, M4 and M5).
- Minimum 12 months experience in geo-environmental projects.
- Pay rate is dependant on grade: £385 per day – £590 per day.
- Inside IR35 – role may get re‑assessed.
