About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Water Quality Consultant to join a growing Water Environment team. The role focuses on delivering sustainable, evidence-led solutions for inland catchments, supporting clients, regulators and stakeholders in addressing water quality, pollution and climate-related challenges. You will play a key role in the development of integrated catchment management solutions, combining water, land and asset management to meet future water supply and wastewater treatment demands. The position is client-facing and offers the opportunity to work across the Water sector, with additional exposure to Energy and Community Development projects. This role provides excellent scope for technical leadership, mentoring, proposal development and long-term career progression within an ambitious multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Technical leadership of water quality and catchment investigations
- Delivery of evidence-led studies and nature-based solutions
- Authoring and reviewing technical reports in line with quality assurance standards
- Preparation of technical proposals and management of project budgets and programmes
- Coordination and oversight of in-house and subcontracted field teams
- Client, regulator and stakeholder engagement
- Development of new business opportunities
- Mentoring and supervision of junior staff
What Our Client is Looking For
- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. water quality, catchment science, hydrogeology, pollution management or limnology)
- Postgraduate qualification desirable
- Strong understanding of UK water environment legislation and guidance
- Experience delivering evidence-led environmental investigations
- Consulting experience within the Water sector or related industries
- Experience developing nature-based solutions (e.g. wetlands, natural flood management, soil management) advantageous
- Design and delivery of monitoring programmes, including emerging and remote sensing techniques
- Advanced data analysis skills, including GIS, coding and environmental modelling
