Job Title: Project Planner
Location: Milton Keynes (with travel to Oxford, Bicester and across Buckinghamshire)
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per annum
The Role
A growing consultancy specialising in delivering high quality project controls and planning expertise to clients across the infrastructure and rail sector are seeking a skilled Project Planner to join our expanding team.
Based primarily in Milton Keynes, you will provide planning support across key sites in Oxford, Bicester and Buckinghamshire. The role will involve developing, maintaining, and reporting on integrated project schedules, ensuring delivery against client objectives, and driving best practice in planning and project controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Support the production and maintenance of integrated schedules across multiple workstreams.
- Apply Earned Value Management techniques to monitor project performance.
- Provide accurate forecasting, reporting and progress analysis to support decision making.
- Ensure compliance with client planning standards, processes and governance frameworks.
- Support risk and change management processes in line with NEC contract awareness.
- Engage and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across design, engineering, and construction.
- Provide regular reports and updates to project stakeholders, highlighting risks and opportunities.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Project Planner within civil engineering or rail projects.
- Strong proficiency with Primavera P6.
- Experience in integrated scheduling and programme controls.
- Knowledge and application of EVM principles.
- Working knowledge of NEC contracts (awareness required).
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Working knowledge of Critical Path Analysis or Critical Path Method.
Desired Qualifications
- A degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Professional membership of APM, PMI or similar is an advantage.
