We’re looking for an experienced Trade Counter Sales Assistant to join our newly opened Advance Roofing Supplies branch in Bury St Edmunds. This is a hands‑on role at the heart of the branch, working closely with customers and colleagues to keep everything running smoothly while helping to grow the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Serving trade and retail customers at the counter, delivering a great experience every time
- Building relationships and generating sales from new and existing customers
- Processing orders, quotes, and enquiries accurately and efficiently
- Keeping displays well stocked, organised, and presentable
- Liaising with suppliers on product availability and pricing
- Supporting across the branch, including yard and warehouse duties when required
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in roofing or builders’ merchant sales (essential)
- Strong knowledge of roofing materials
- A confident, customer‑focused approach with a natural ability to sell
- Someone who enjoys being part of a small team and getting stuck in
- A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
- Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain one)
- Eligible to work in the UK
What We Offer
- Competitive salary
- Hours: 7am-5pm Monday to Friday, 7am-12pm alternate Saturdays
- Holiday: 23 days plus Bank Holidays
